  2. Elementary Composers

    December 4, 2024

First and second grade students at Atwood Primary School are composing their own melodies using two rhythm blocks! The blocks are made with words translated into rhythms. These musicians first learned the sequence as a group. Next, they improvised on a pentatonic scale before playing in a group rhythm block. Then, students composed their own and played as a group. In the final step, students played their compositions individually! Mrs. Peterson shared that it’s been such a fun process to watch her young musicians compose their own melodies to rhythms they have chosen! Bravo! #WeAreRSU18 #AtwoodAwesome

On Halloween morning, the two school communities will place all of their collected change in the World of Change truck! All funds will be used to grant a wish for a child through the Make-A-Wish foundation!
