Meet Amy Naegely, Dean of Students at Atwood Primary School!
What are you most looking forward to about this upcoming school year?
When thinking about this upcoming school year, I am most looking forward to learning a position that is new to me. I am also looking forward to connecting with families and students in Oakland.
What’s your favorite thing to do over the summer?
My favorite thing to do over the summer is to soak up sunshine and salt water at Pemaquid Beach with my kids. It’s tradition for us to stop at the Round Top for ice cream on the way home.
Tell us about your family!
My husband, Jake, and I live in Vassalboro with our kids Luke (12) and Lydia (9). We have a 1 year old golden retriever named June who keeps us on our toes!
What is your favorite thing about being part of RSU 18?
My favorite thing about being a part of RSU 18 is having the opportunity to work alongside an amazing group of staff members who are dedicated to our students and communities.
What is your favorite book to share with students and why?
One of my favorite books to share with students at the start of the school year is “All Are Welcome” by Alexandra Penfold. The story takes readers through a school day, activities, and homes with a repeated message that no matter their race, family makeup, religion, or ability – everyone belongs.
