Second Grade Scientists at Work
Second graders have been diving into scientific reasoning during their Force and Motion unit at Atwood Primary School. Students began by exploring push and pull with magnets, testing which materials were attracted and discovering that magnets have two poles. Hands-on investigations helped them observe, predict, and summarize their learning.
In Ms. Bickford’s classroom, students applied their understanding by designing and building catapults. After forming hypotheses, measuring distances, and collecting marshmallow-launch data, they reflected on their results and the accuracy of their predictions. Creativity and critical thinking were on full display as these young scientists put their learning into motion. #WeAreRSU18 #AtwoodAwesome
