First Annual Nonfiction March Madness Reading Tournament
With the help of the Messalonskee Boys Varsity Basketball team, Atwood kicked off their first annual Nonfiction March Madness Reading Tournament! During the month of March, classroom teachers have been sharing 16 outstanding, fact-filled picture books with their primary readers. Students are learning about topics such as volcanoes, ants, the treasures found in garbage, and how animals sleep! Mrs. Kroemer’s second graders connected the tournament to their opinion writing unit by posting book reviews of one of their favorite contenders, The Mysterious, Marvelous Octopus!
