Pre-K end of the year fishing expedition
The Atwood Pre-K students had an amazing end of the year family involvement event at the beginning of the week. Angela Jurdak, who runs the fishing program at MMS, reached out to Mr. Gartley earlier this spring with the idea of providing the Pre-K students with an opportunity to go fishing.
This past Monday, June 10th, fourteen Pre-K students and their family members met at the Oakland boat landing for a beautiful morning of fishing. Ms. Jurdak even provided each child with a fishing pole and a small tackle box that they got to keep!
“The children learned a variety of skills from putting worms on the hooks to casting to patience,” said Pre-K teacher Krystal Blaisdell, “And we even caught a few fish! It was a wonderful morning for students, parents, and teachers! I am extremely grateful that Ms. Jurdak provided us with this experience!”
